Greensides Results 27/07/2008
The results of The Greensides London Open which was held on Sunday 27th July 2008 What another good turnout we had this month we had 48 players turn up for this knockout and the standard of the darts this month were superb there were a lot of talented players out there today and it was great to see them come from all over for this knockout, there were a few regular players missing due to other commitments however we had a lot of new players turn up from as far as Sussex Hertfordshire, Kent, Essex, good to see a few London Super league players turn up for this event and some faces I had not seen for a long while, Lionel Sams, Michael Barnard Robbie Smith, John Nelson, Jin Foster David Foster, from Kent Super League, Sean Lowndes, Jim Penman, Peter Mitchell, Clive Barden for those of you that I did not mention (you all know who you are) it was a first time at the event for some of them, and I am sure they all had a great day, thanks once again to everyone who did turn up and make this a great day Another 4 new faces in the semi finals Clive Barden beat Ian Dawson, Justin Thurley beat Sean Lowndes, Now may I just say a few words about Justin Thurley, he turns up month in month out to this knockout and I think he has only ever missed one competition, so he is a loyal supporter of Greensides, well this month Justin beat Tricia Wright in the last 16, he beat our ever popular Premier Pete in the last 8 he went on to beat Sean Lowndes in the semi only to lose to an inform Clive Barden 5-2 in the final, Justin you did yourself proud today and we hope that this is he start of better things for you WELL DONE Clive Barden Winner £180, Justin Thurley £80, Sean Lowndes £25 and Ian Dawson £25 and the furthest Lady Tricia Wright £25 Thanks to the lads etc who set up all the boards for me as this is a great help. Also a mention to Tony Reeves, we missed you this month.
