The Mark Howe Shield January 6th. £700+ Prize Fund
Sunday 6th January sees the inaugural Mark Howe Shield Competition being held at Epsom Legion. This event is open to all registered Surrey Super League players, male or female. The Prize Fund is a guaranteed £700 if 64 entries are received. If there are less entrants, the prize will be reduced dependant on entry fees and contributions from the sponsor. There will also be a prize for the Furthest Lady Player. Entry is £10 and is limited to just 64 players. Doors open at 11:00am for a Noon start. Do you want entry fee in advance or on day?

I assume it will probably be the same scenario as the Super League Classic, whereby you could pay on the day as long as you had given your intention to play by 2nd January. This was to save players the effort of filling forms and sending cheques etc. but on the proviso that if you agree to play, you are liable for the entry fee if you don't turn up. It helps the player & the organiser that way - you scratch my back etc ... :) Give Tony a ring & he'll let you know what the policy is.

If you haven't rung Tony to enter, please do so by the closing date, which is Thursday at Midday sharp!

The deadline has gone, but there are easily enough entries to guarantee that the event will go ahead so entries will be taken on the day. What a great day of darts today & a fantastic contribution to Mark's ward of just under £500. Well done to Dave Askew for winning & well done to Aaron Turner for finishing runner-up. Everyone deserves a medal today but special thanks to: Dave Askew for giving £100 of his prize back to the fund Phil Milburn for giving £40 of his £50 highest checkout prize back Tony Cartwright, Dave Creamer, Nick Holman, Bob Howe & anyone else involved in donating fantastic raffle prizes including a signed PDC World Championship board, a brand new golf bag & 4 tickets to Sandown races. Doug Harwood for a generous late contribution. Everyone else who threw money into the pot when they didn't need to. Everyone for posing for the picture for Mark & for signing the shirt as well. Well done all :D
